Fixed Dental Bridges
Let Our Spring Hill Dentist Restore Your Smile!
When teeth are lost or missing, bridges are a common and viable solution to fixing the area. The right type of bridge can help your smile look complete, healthy, and natural, allowing you to eat and talk without worrying about form or function.
A bonded bridge is considered the most conservative approach and involves attaching a pontic (false tooth or teeth) made from a tooth impression to either side of surrounding teeth for support. These are often cemented to the backside of adjoining teeth, helping your smile to look complete, healthy, and natural. There are also fixed bridges, which are typically used to replace a single tooth.
At Dentistry by Design in Spring Hill, TN, we can talk to you about the options available, the cost, what to expect, and more, so you can make the right choice. Dr. Robinette has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years and is passionate about what he does. He and our staff are here to provide the highest quality treatment and care.

What Are the Different Types of Dental Bridges?
There are four main types of dental bridges:
- A traditional dental bridge is held in place by dental crowns cemented onto natural teeth on either side of the bridge. This is the most popular type of dental bridge.
- A cantilever dental bridge is held in place by a single dental crown cemented onto one natural tooth, on one side of the gap where the tooth/teeth are missing.
- A Maryland dental bridge is held into place using a metal or porcelain framework bonded onto the backs of the natural teeth on either side of the bridge.
- An implant-supported dental bridge is held into place using dental implants, which are surgically inserted into the jawbone, typically one implant per missing tooth.
Which Type of Bridge Is Right for Me?
The type of bridge that’s right for you will depend not only upon which tooth or teeth are missing, but also your personal preferences, and the condition of your natural teeth and jaw. When you come to Dentistry by Design for a dental bridge in Spring Hill, we will talk to you about all of your options. We want you to make a choice based on accurate information and an assessment by a qualified professional.
